Our Mission

Our mission is to provide quality, accessible, and comprehensive medical care to all individuals in the local community, regardless of their ability to pay.

Our Vision

Our vision is to meet the needs of all community members through outreach, service expansion, and organizational growth.

Health Center Quality Leader

In 2020 and 2021, we were recognized as a Health Center Quality Leader - performing in the top 20% of community health centers nationwide. In 2022, 2023, and 2024, we were recognized for performing in the top 10%.

Mountaineer Community Health Center was started in 1996 by a group of citizens concerned about access to quality healthcare in the Paw Paw area. In 2004, we built our current facility. Today, we offer quality primary and behavioral health care to people from West Virginia, Maryland, and Virginia, provided by staff who live in and know our community.

A lot has changed since we opened in 1996, but our commitment to our community has not. We are still a non-profit that's governed by a board of people who live right here in the community. We are still committed to improving the quality of life for our neighbors, family, and friends.
